Operate 24 hours per day, 365 days per year
See an average of about 150 patients a day
Usually first point of call at the hospital for acute care
Busy and stressful environment for patients, professionals, and caregivers
Identified need for such services based on experiences of founders
Compliment hospital’s work with relief assistance to patients at the prescient’s of the hospital
